Darkwing Duck

  1. Ian Brill Looks Back on "Darkwing Duck"

    CBR News &bull Nov 16, 2011

He is the terror that flaps in the night. He is the batteries that are not included. But after a memorable eighteen-issues at BOOM! Studios, Darkwing Duck ended his current run in comics earlier this month, a run that had introduced a new generation of fans to the Disney Afternoon hero and offered fresh adventures in St. Canard to the twenty- and thirty-somethings who grew up with him. Created by Tad Stones, "Darkwing Duck" ran from 1991-95 and starred the egotistical Masked Mallard as he fought an unlikely series of villains. BOOM!' The end of BOOM!' Comic Book Resources spoke… Full Story »

  16. Quesada Shares a Cup 'O Joe at D23

    Comic Book Resources &bull Aug 23, 2011

A large crowd filled the Anaheim Convention Center arena floor at D23, Walt Disney's fan expo, in order to hear Marvel Comics Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada talk about the company, Marvel's upcoming projects and to get a sense of what the 2009 Disney purchase of Marvel means for the comic book publisher. Unlike other D23 panels, Quesada's talk began with a video, a grainy "top secret transmission" from a S.H.I.E.L.D. underground bunker. The audience burst into applause as the "operative" in the video turned out to be none other than Stan Lee. This is Mighty Marvel's very first appearance… Full Story »

  19. What I Bought 8/10/2011 - Part 3

Reporting on Marvels and Legends &bull Aug 16, 2011

I noticed yesterday that Batman Beyond 8 spelled penciler with two Ls. Normally, I see it written with one, and that's how I typically spell it, but I wonder if that's wrong. My spell-check doesn't recognize "penciler", but it doesn't recognize "penciller", either. Anyway, it's a "Titles that start with D" day. Daredevil #1 - It took me awhile to notice how everything around DD is covered with sound effects. I originally just noticed the lack of color, which makes sense considering Murdock can't perceive color. Unless, different colored dyes and paints have a different scent, but as he points… Full Story »
