Aquaman Shrine Interview with Joshua Williamson
The Aquaman Shrine &bull Dec 8, 2011
On Tuesday, the Shrine posted a recap of one of the General Mills JLA comics that are exclusive to certain boxes of cereal; this was the one that centered on Aquaman and Batman that I enjoyed as a solid, well-paced, all-ages DC superhero comic. The writer of that comic, Joshua Williamson, was kind enough to answer some questions about the book and Aquaman in general:The Aquaman Shrine: How was the overall plot to… Full Story »

Yet Another Comics Blog &bull Dec 4, 2011
Continuing my capsule reviews of each week's DCnU books, now in their third month:All Star Western #3: Moritat's art continues to be quite suitable for this story; I especially liked the double-page splash at the end. Didn't care much for the back-up though. Rating: 3 (of 5)Aquaman #3:… Full Story »

Aquaman Shrine Interview with James Tucker
The Aquaman Shrine &bull Nov 22, 2011
With Batman: Brave and the Bold having aired its final episode on Friday, I thought it would be nice to talk to B:BATB Producer James Tucker one last time. James, gracious as always, agreed:The Aquaman Shrine:Many people still don't understand why a creatively and financially successful show like Batman: Brave and the Bold goes off the air. Can you explain a little bit why the show ended? James Tucker:I don't claim to understand totally the ins and outs of how the business side of animation works. What I do know is that most crews on these type of shows get… Full Story »

Brave and the Bold: "Mitefall!"
The Aquaman Shrine &bull Nov 21, 2011
Bat-Mite is very critical of the show he once loved, saying its grown predictable and tired, with sillier and sillier plots that his hero has had to wade through. Bat-Mite, wanting the show to end before it gets any worse, works up a typically-perverse plan: to make the show so bad that it has to be cancelled! As he sets about his plan, we see another member of the DCU watching all this, and he's aghast over the idea of Brave and the Bold being cancelled: the… Full Story »

Farewell, Batman
X-Ray Spex &bull Nov 19, 2011
The last episode of "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" aired Friday night on Cartoon Network. If you (a) don't have a kid or (b) aren't a comic book nerd, you probably didn't watch and don't care. Well, I fall into both categories. Created to appeal to a younger audience, "Brave and the Bold" skipped the whole Dark Knight persona and returned the Silver Age Batman to the screen -- and it was great fun. On any given episode, Batman could fight Merlin with the Demon and Green Arrow, save Christmas with Red Tornado, be killed repeatedly by an omnipotent… Full Story »
