As an artist, Bissette remains perhaps best known for penciling the Alan Moore written "Swamp Thing" in the 1980s. He also wrote, illustrated and self-published dinosaur epic "Tyrant," and as a publisher, Bissette oversaw the horror-themed anthology "Taboo" which featured work by Moore, Eddie Campbell, Charles Burns and numerous other comic book luminaries.
